In the slums of Kampala, a lack of sanitary pads does more than interrupt hygiene\u2014it interrupts futures. At Tez ChildFund Africa<\/strong>, we\u2019ve seen firsthand how period poverty<\/strong> silently steals education, confidence, and dignity from young girls.<\/p>

The Hidden Crisis<\/h3>
For many girls, getting their period means staying home from school. Without access to safe menstrual products:<\/p>

1 in 3 girls<\/strong> in our programs miss up to 5 days of school each month<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Many are forced to use rags, paper, or nothing at all\u2014putting them at risk of infections, embarrassment, and isolation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>
This isn\u2019t just a health issue\u2014it\u2019s a barrier to equality.<\/p>
