
In 2019, Hamuza Tezikubwa founded Tez ChildFund Africa after witnessing the growing number of children sleeping on the streets of Kampala and living in extreme poverty within the slums of Katwe.
He believed every child deserved safety, opportunity, and guidance.
Within months, we rented a house and transformed it into a temporary safe shelter.
21 children between the ages of 4 and 16 were taken off the streets and given:
For three months, those children experienced stability and hope.
Due to limited funding and lack of long-term financial partnerships, operations could not continue.
With heavy hearts, the children were reintegrated back into their communities with small upkeep support.
We promised those children we would return — stronger and more sustainable.
Today, we are rebuilding structured systems and partnerships to ensure long-term impact.
