Community First Aid: Empowering Slum Youth to Become Everyday Heroes
In Uganda’s slums, help isn’t always nearby—but heroes can be. At Tez ChildFund Africa, we’re training youth with life-saving first aid skills, turning bystanders into first responders. One workshop can mean the difference between tragedy and survival.

In Uganda’s most underserved neighborhoods, emergencies happen every day—but trained help is often miles away. At Tez ChildFund Africa, we believe that saving lives shouldn’t be a luxury. That’s why we train young people in slum communities with basic first aid skills—so they can respond when every second counts.

Why This Work Matters

In homes where illness and accidents are common, even small injuries can become life-threatening:

  • Children suffer burns, malaria, wounds, and injuries with no trained help nearby

  • By equipping youth with first aid skills, we’re creating a network of local first responders—ready to care for their families and neighbors

What We Teach

Our practical, hands-on workshops include:

  • How to stop bleeding, clean and dress wounds

  • CPR basics, fever management, burn care, and more

  • How to stay calm and respond quickly in emergencies

These skills don’t just save lives—they build confidence, leadership, and community resilience.

How You Can Help

  • $20 sponsors one youth through a full-day first aid training

  • $200 equips a community center with a fully stocked first aid kit

You don’t need a hospital to save a life. Just knowledge, compassion—and your support.

Train one. Save many.
