Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe, healthy, educated, and loved. At Tez ChildFund Africa, we work alongside vulnerable children, families, and communities across Uganda to break the cycle of poverty through child protection, education, nutrition, healthcare, and sustainable community support.
Founded in 2018, our organization began with a simple yet powerful mission: to reach children who had been forgotten by society. We started by providing meals to children living on the streets and in informal settlements around Kampala. Later that same year, we established a temporary residential shelter in Kiwatule, where 21 rescued children found safety, nutritious meals, counseling, educational preparation, and structured daily care.
Although the shelter closed after three months because of limited funding, it demonstrated that meaningful transformation is possible when vulnerable children receive consistent care, protection, and encouragement.
Today, we continue supporting children within their communities while working toward reopening a sustainable rescue and shelter program. Every child we reach represents another opportunity to restore hope, strengthen families, and build brighter futures.
The Challenge
Why Our Work Matters
Across Uganda, many children face daily challenges that threaten their safety, education, health, and future opportunities. Poverty, neglect, family instability, abuse, and limited access to essential services continue to place thousands of children at risk.
Many children struggle with:
- Food insecurity and malnutrition.
- Limited access to quality education.
- Lack of school supplies and uniforms.
- Poor healthcare access.
- Family separation.
- Child neglect and abuse.
- Exploitation and child labor.
- Homelessness and life on the streets.
Without timely intervention, these challenges can lead to school dropout, chronic poverty, substance abuse, trafficking, and lifelong vulnerability.

Our Programs
Community Child Support
Supporting vulnerable children while strengthening families through nutrition, education assistance, counseling, and child protection.
Education Support
Providing school fees assistance, uniforms, learning materials, digital skills, and educational opportunities that keep children in school.
Nutrition & Health
Ensuring children receive nutritious meals, healthcare referrals, emergency medical support, and health education.
Rescue & Shelter Initiative
Working toward reopening a safe residential shelter where children in crisis can receive temporary care, structured support, and preparation for family reunification or school reintegration.
Youth Empowerment
Helping older children and young people develop practical skills through computer training, music, sports, entrepreneurship, leadership, and vocational education.
