
Our Story
Tez ChildFund Africa was founded in 2018 with a simple but urgent belief: No child should grow up without safety, dignity, or hope. What began as a response to children sleeping on the streets of Kampala quickly grew into action. Within months, we rented a house in Kiwatule and transformed it into a temporary shelter for vulnerable children. For months, 21 children from the streets of Kampala and the slums of Katwe received:
Due to limited funding, the shelter closed. It was a painful decision, but it strengthened our resolve. Today, we continue supporting vulnerable children within their communities whenever financially possible, while working to relaunch our full programs sustainably.
We are rebuilding stronger — with governance, transparency, and long-term systems in place.
